With 32 years combined experience as a psychotherapist and pastoral counselor Dr. Johnson works to help you heal from a variety of psychological and spiritual problems.

We offer a unique psychotherapy practice in the Houston, Texas area. Specializing in the treatment of Trauma, Dissociative Disorders, Depression, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), life journey and spiritual path, Dr. Johnson brings together a number of therapy models and theories to promote healing. She draws from trauma theory, systems theory, cognitive and cognitive behavioral theory, and Jungian oriented psychotherapy to address your particular needs.

Frances K Johnson, MDiv, PhD, LPC studied psychology that acknowledges both the conscious and unconscious aspects of the human psyche at the Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2007.

What we do

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy may be short or long-term depending on an individual's needs. Whether you are seeking an opportunity for long or short term self-exploration, help managing life's challenges, life cycle transitions, job loss, loss of a loved one, divorce, depression, anxiety or improving the quality of relationship with self and others, Dr. Johnson will work with you to address your particular needs .

Group Psychotherapy

Groups offer options for individuals to explore various topics such as mid-life transition, spiritual path, and process groups to improve communication skills and quality of relationships with others. Current group: Mid-Life Transition; Ongoing groups forming include Exploring your Spiritual Path, Exploring Dreams in a Group Context, and a process group.

Marriage & Couples

In pre-marital counseling Dr. Johnson works with couples to explore family of origin patterns that may affect their marriage. Couples will take the Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Inventory to gain understanding of their personality types and how they may affect such things as communication and decision making in the marriage context. Other topics related to marriage such as sex, money, power and control will also be explored in this three session package.

Trauma Therapy

Dr. Johnson has specialized training and experience to work with individuals suffering from PTSD, Complex PTSD and Dissociative Disorders. She uses a Phase Oriented Trauma Therapy in her work with individuals who have survived traumatic life experiences such as childhood trauma: emotional, physical and sexual abuse, and domestic violence.

Jungian Oriented Therapy

Using Jungian oriented therapy Dr. Johnson uses aspects of analytic psychology such as exploration of dreams, gaining greater self-knowledge through the expanded lens of greater consciousness and meaning to assist persons along their life journey or spiritual path.
